<<<  Help Support the Beach at Joe's Pond >>>

The West Danville Community Club continues to operate the beach for summer swimming at Joes Pond. They are working hard to raise money to pay for the beach operation. They need your continued support to insure its existence and success for years to come, and need additional help at this time to pay for much needed renovations to the beach facilities.  Donations may be left at Hastings Store or mailed to: West Danville Community Club, P.O. Box 6 West Danville, VT 05873.  If you have time and talents and wish to assist in the beach operation see Garey at Hastings Store. As a note the water from the beach is tested every week during the summer, and for the past four years has never failed a test.

The Game Supper November 15th 2007

The Danville Methodist Game Supper, begun in 1921, is not only the oldest game supper in Vermont, but considered by many to be one of the finest in the region.  Once featured in Yankee Magazine’s “Book of Special New England Days,” the game supper takes place on the Thursday before Thanksgiving at the Danville United Methodist Church on the southwest corner of the Green.  Meat pies are featured, typically venison, moose, bear, coon, beaver, rabbit, and chicken.  The tables groan with side dishes, squash, potato, glazed carrots, green beans, cranberry sauce, coleslaw, and pickles, topped off with dinner rolls, coffee, and homemade dessert pies. Reservations maybe made by emailing Toby within a month of the event at  tobybalivet@netscape.net.

GREEN UP DAY - BULKY   DAY

Green Up Day is usually scheduled for the first Saturday in May, as always we are looking for volunteers to help clean up our road sides and public areas. Call James Jung for further information at 684-1019. Also it is Bulky Day so bring your large items to throw out to the  Town Wood Depository on the Bruce Badger Memorial Highway between 9AM and 12PM.  Here is another chance to get cleanup around town and dispose properly of those unwanted items.

Town Hall Repairs

Danville Town Hall roof renovations are completed. The roofing has been replaced with a nice metal roof that should solve the leak problems for a long time. Prior to the roofing, reinforcing members were added to the roof rafters in the attic, so they shouldn't sag any more. While they were up there doing the roofing, we decided to spruce up the clock faces and clock tower as well. Take a look at it, it all looks really nice!

Second Floor renovations are complete also!
