Minutes of Monthly Meeting

Danville Planning Commission

11 December 2008

Attendees:      Jeff Frampton, Derek Fenby, Nancy Lewis, Kim Prior, Jim Ashley

Start:              Meeting opened at 7:03 pm

New Business:

Mike Boudreau attended as a potential new planning commissioner and was unanimously voted on as a member.  He accepted responsibility for being the planning commission’s representative to the Danville Chamber of Commerce.

Reviewed Smart Growth recommendations for downtown zoning:  Accepted primary map recommendation (showing areas covered by different districts); returning a number of questions on district descriptions before final review / approval by Friday December 20, 2008.

Tabled for discussion at future meeting:  Use of $2,000 grant to encourage physical activity in Danville.

Jeff will contact Smart Growth to see how much it would cost to develop building design standard recommendations for the Village Core and Historical areas, and whether there would be enough funds left in our 2008 budge to cover these costs.

Jim reports that the recycling center could potentially fit in an area designated near the treatment plant.  Heavy use encourages keeping the facility in the village.

Jim continues work to schedule a forum with contractor presentations on alternate sewage methods.

Proposal by Jim to allocate $150 for sustainability books and materials to be housed at the Pope Library.  No action (suggested we take out of next year funds)

Close:              Meeting adjourned at 9:05pm
