Danville Planning Commission

23rd September 2010

Attendees:      Jeff Frampton,  Nancy Lewis, Kim Prior,

 Start:              Meeting opened at 7:10 pm 

New Business:           

Bob Briggs and Peter McAlenney attended as potential new Planning Commission members – recommendation to appoint being sent to Selectboard.   

Cover letter to Mert regarding town plan renewal has been submitted.  Selectboard needs to add to their meeting with a 15-day warning.  We also need to send a draft via certified mail to abutting towns before so they can attend.   Selectboard will vote during their meeting to accept or not.

 Linda Leone (zoning administrator) has new version of permit application to begin using immediately.  Jeff will send an electronic copy to Mert to post on web site.

 Jeff is completing Village Center Designation application – will submit by November 1^st.

 Jeff talked to road foreman (Kevin Gadapee) about sidewalks up Hill Street along with buried power lines – Kevin agrees this is a good idea.   Sidewalk costs need to be estimated; according to state Rt 2 project person, will be much less expensive to incorporate within Rt 2 project.  Also learned from Kevin that back-set sidewalks are necessary for drainage (learned from latest Hill Street work).  Mert is the town contact for Rt 2 project.

Will work on signs next meeting – Jim is compiling our input.   Leaning towards enforceable ordinance vs. incorporating into bylaws, which require environmental court to enforce
