           Selectboard Minutes

                      January 22nd, 2009

The Selectboard met at the Danville Town Hall on Thursday January 22nd 2009. Marvin Withers called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Selectboard present were Marion Sevigny, Marvin Withers, Doug Pastula, Michael K Walsh and Denise Briggs. Also present were, Kevin Gadapee, Angelo Incerpi, and Merton Leonard and visitors Mike Boudreau and David Machell. 

             Angelo Incerpi a member of the Budget Committee was present to clarify a couple items on the budgets and advise the Selectboard that the Town Budget Meeting with the Budget Committee and School Board would be held on February 5th at 7:00 pm at the Town Hall.

Michael K Walsh corrected the January 15th minute's statement "to discuss personnel" to "to discuss personnel issues and invite Wendy and Merton to join them". Michael moved to accept the January 15th minutes as corrected, Marion Sevigny seconded the motion, the minutes were approved as corrected.

             Kevin reported that winter road maintenance has continued slower allowing for equipment repairs, snow removal, and some time off.  The colder weather has also used less sand and salt.

             Merton reported that the county budget had increased by $2100 due to a legal settlement, and that the final appropriation requests are down by another $8,000. The Board reviewed the proposed Selectboard letter for the town report and suggested numerous changes that were so noted.

             The Board reviewed the bills and signed the orders, it was noted one bill did not belong to the Town. The Board again reviewed the final proposed budgets for 2009. Michael K Walsh moved to accept the proposed municipal and highway budgets and to submit them for printing in the town report; Marion Sevigny seconded the motion, which was approved. The Board reviewed the warning for Town Meeting. Michael K Walsh moved to approve the warning as printed for 2009 town meeting; Marion Sevigny seconded the motion which was approved. The Board signed the warning.

             The Board read the letter of resignation from William Cruess from the Board of the Danville Rescue Service. Michael K Walsh moved to accept Bill's resignation with regret; Denise Briggs seconded the motion which was approved. Mike Boudreau was recommended by the Planning Commission to become a member on their Commission, Michael K Walsh moved to accept Mike as a member of the Planning Commission; Denise Briggs seconded the motion which was approved. The Board read a letter of resignation from Steve Cobb as a Town Auditor effective Town Meeting Day. Michael K Walsh moved to accept Steve's resignation with regret; Doug Pastula seconded the motion which was approved. 

            With no other business, the Board adjourned at 7:38 PM.
